Intelligent sensor technology supports patients and care staff. At a hospital, every day is determined by making the patients' lives easier and facilitating their recovery in an optimum way. However, this is usually not possible without human support.
The care staff conveys safety and a sense of well-being. These characteristics are likewise reflected in the technology of our hospital beds.
The Out-of-Bedfunction integrated in the hospital bed transmits a digital signal if help is required. Every second that the care staff is relieved by the system is also a gain for the patient.
Only if products meet these requirements, we can say that they are “products with heart and mind”.
Safety that you see and hear
Hospital beds with Out-of-Bed-system automatically inform the care staff as soon as a patient leaves their bed. On request, a messaging function can be activated that sends a message through the existing call system directly to the care staff's room. The message delay can be adjusted individually, e.g. to 15 or 30 seconds, 2 or 15 minutes. The activation and control occurs with the aid of a handset at the bed. During each start-up of the Out-of-Bed-function, a safety lock is activated at the handset that prevents a readjustment of the functions by the patient. The system relieves the staff and provides additional safety for the patient.

Getting out of bed safely at night
If a patient needs to leave their bed frequently at night, a permanent and non-glare light under the bed can be switched on. Combined with the Out-of- Bed-system, the under bed light is activated automatically if the patient leaves the bed. The patient can get out of bed safely and will find their way back reliably without waking up other patients. Once the patient has returned to bed, the Out-of-Bed-system will automatically deactivate the light.
The new LCD-handset has a well arranged display and only three buttons. This ensures a particularly easy and clear use. Dimmed permanent backlighting makes the controls easy to see at any time of day or night. The new handset is very robust and has a slim and elegant design.
Easy to operate for everybody
Most simple operation for the patient (Level 1)
This level only shows the functions that are released for the patient. Due to the three buttons, the handset can also be operated by patients with strong physical limitations.
Special functions for care staff (level 2)
Nurses can lock certain adjustment settings for the patient, but thanks to EasyCare, they can use all options of the bed without changing the lock status for the patient.
Service functions for the technician (Level 3)
This level offers special bed adjustments and adaptations for the service technician. Furthermore, potential problems may be solved quickly on the basis of the integrated error analysis.
Integrated collision protection
The height adjustment of the beds works quickly and forcefully to guarantee a time-saving operation. Should something, due to lack of attention, be in the way when the bed is raised, it may lead to damage to the bed and the furnishings of the building. For this reason, a collision switch is integrated in the wall deflection rollers. This switch automatically stops the height adjustment function as soon as an obstacle is in the way.
Programmable height adjustment
The height adjustment can be limited in both directions. For example, the height of the window sills, the wall installations and power sockets may be entered as maximum or minimum height.
As a result, collisions with these obstacles will never occur again. In this way, it can also be prevented that fall-prone patients raise the bed too high. This is a further important element of fall prevention.
Comfortably calling up the right position
With the aid of the memory function, certain standard positions can be pre-programmed and recalled easily by the care staff. As a result, the individual favourite position can be memorized for each patient. In addition, other individual bed positions are repeatedly used as a standard in the daily hospital routine.
These “bed profiles” for therapy, diagnosis, breakfast or cleaning can be memorized and called up at the touch of a button. With this memory function, the care staff saves time since the laborious readjustment of the bed is not necessary.
Safety provided by brake signal
Modern movable hospital beds are equipped with an acoustic brake signal. If the power plug is connected, these beds will detect when the brake is not engaged. Consequently, various dangers can be avoided, e.g. falls when leaving, returning to or leaning against the unbraked bed.
Moreover, the maintenance costs for power cables and sockets can be reduced by the audible alarm since the disconnection of the power connections cannot be overlooked any more during bed transport.
